(No, there is no profile yet, but I'm lazy and on my phone. So I'm working on it slowly.)
Outside was a good place to be. The openness, the fresh air, the breeze, it was all nice. And it all helped to keep Yvaine's mood in check. Not being cooped up was best during this time of each month, when the moon was nearly full. Unlike her mother, Vai did not transform into a raging beast during each fullness of the moon. However, she did suffer the emotional side effects-- and they were physically obvious. The closer it got, the more bold and mouthy she became. Witty, sarcastic, the works. But as the moon waned each month, so did her devil may care attitude.
But right now? She was out just past the greenhouses. Less population, and much less likely that she would get into trouble for setting things on fire just to watch them burn (though she of course put the fires out too.)
By this point in the day, and year, most other students were running around in long sleeves and/or sweaters. Yvaine however needed neither right now. Her blood was heated enough that the skin exposed from her tanktop wasn't even chilled, and the few tears in her jeans didn't seem to bother her either, though that went double for the heat of the occasional fires not phasing her either.
Yep, it was definitely closing in on full moon time.

(also no profile, because this boy shouldn't exist. But you try to kill him, and he just won't stay dead...)
Wade Sighed.
It wasn't just your ordinary sigh, no. No, this was a substantial Sigh. Aimed directly at the empty chair across from the one Wade was sprawled across in the Gryffindor common room. Drew was missing. Again. Completely and totally AWOL and Wade was just about ready to write him up for insubordination, or maybe desertion. Treason, even, if the mood struck.
Heaving himself up out from his chair, Wade set off on a spider-hunt. If he didn't find Drew first, then maybe at least he'd find someone interesting. Might as well start out on the grounds and work his way back up to the Tower.
He made his journey through the castle as interesting as possible. Jumping down the last few stairs, vaulting over railings whenever completely unnecessary, maybe a backflip or twelve, y'know. Interesting.
It worked, though. Before he knew it he was out around the greenhouses. He wasn't even sure why they were called 'green' houses anyway. They weren't actually green. And ok, maybe it's supposed to be because they were filled with a bunch of green plants, but they must have been named by muggles because most of the wizarding greenery they had to learn about in Herbology wasn't really all that green.
Speaking of things that aren't green, he recognized that particular shade of fire sprouting out the scalp of a girl who had some serious bite to her. Changing trajectories with a swivel of his hips, Wade crossed a few more feet before kicking off a cartwheel that ended in him flopping down next to his housemate.
Reclining gracefully with his head propped up on his hand, Wade leveled a stare at the physical representation of his woes.
"Drew is missing and its entirely your fault. It's your fault, because he's not actually missing, he's wherever little Elanor is. And because Miss Elaina is your cousin, that makes her your responsibility, and ergo your fault that my biffle is missing snack time."

Strangely enough, Vai knew Wade was close before he even got to her. No, it wasn't her sense of smell- thank Merlin for that- but just a sense of a familiar body. Completely natural, to her at least. But when he stopped near her and threw out his accusation? There was a twitch of her wand weilding hand, as if she actually debated setting some portion of him on fire.
But she didn't! Total points.
However, she did huff. "I suppose if that's the case, I can counter your accusation with one of my own. Ellie is also missing without missing, and as Drew is your best mate, it is entirely your fault for not keeping him on some form of leash and thus away from Ellie. Had you done as such, neither of us would be here at present."
She pocketed her wand and folded her arms. There was silence for only a moment before she sighed in an exaggerated sort of way and moved to sit at least somewhat near him. "There wasn't even a hint of invitation to tag along." Which meant the other pair were off somewhere being gross...and that thought made Vai make quite the face.

"Nono, see. Drew figured out how to tune me out years ago. If i had to put a number on it, I'd say it was probably somewhere around October of first year. Something about hypersaturation or overexposure or something I don't know. I can lecture him and list demands til the cows come home and he has no actual obligation to listen to me."
Rolling onto his stomach, he propped his chin on both his hands this time.
"On the other hand, you, my dear Violet, are family to the lady Elise. She is legally obligated to heed your guidance or something. And, thusly, its still your fault that that the dynamic duo is off traipsing through broom cupboards instead of lurking by the greenhouses like any other respectful delinquent."

There was a scoff from Vai and she shook her head, "No, it doesn't work that way." She shifted herself a bit so that she was facing him more and as usual began to talk with her hands. Bad habit, but what can you do? "Ellie is my aunt, therefore she has this unrealistic delusion that she holds the authority between the two of us. That being said, there are very few times I can get her to heed my advice, much less my orders, especially when it comes to those of the opposite gender that her mouth suddenly becomes magnetised to."
She sighed as if she felt sorry for the other girl, "Its quite sad, really. I'm starting to wonder if she's diseased..."

Wade watched Vai's hands as she began to gesture. He'd wondered when that little habit would rear its head.
"Of course she's diseased, what kinda of mentally sound person would pick darling Andrew over me? I mean, really, come on. That's not even a contest. Cheap little slight-of-hand muggle magic tricks versus a sweet pair of katanas? Easy as pie."
He rolled onto his back, busting out his best impersonation of a starfish, and heaved a mighty sigh. "I'm so BORED Merlin I think I'm dying."

This time there was a snort of supressed snickering. "Honestly, Wade, you're not that great." She smirked at him and shook her head, then leaned to pat his belly- purposefully more firmly than was necessary.
"Come on, then. Come up with some crazy scheme or ploy to get us into. Something most likely to get us expelled if caught, but we'll worth the risk regardless." She leaned over his face then, "I'm game for whatever. Take the offer while its on the table."
After all, they both knew an offer for her to be game for //anything// was a rare offer indeed.

Wade tightened his ab muscles just barely in time to counter Vai's unprompted strikes to his torso. His body contracted and surely made him look ridiculous, but at least it didn't hurt. He knew full well that the unassuming godgirl next to him could pack a solid punch when you least expected her to.
"Fuckin-! C'mon, there's no need to get Vai-lent..."
He kind of wanted to roll away, maybe rock out a somersault or two, but her hand resting on his (abused) torso kept him where he was. He couldn't really find it in himself to mind, though, when she leaned over him. Her hair fell across his chest and he figured there were about equal odds that she would be up for kissing him versus that she was planning on spitting in his eye. Of all the days to not be wearing his sunglasses....
"I almost feel like asking if your anything-offer includes a snog behind the greenhouses is almost too convenient. We're already behind the greenhouses, which, by the way, are not even actually green and how rude is that? Freakin' misleading. We're already laying down, and you're leaning over me all enticing-like, hand on my stomach. It's too convenient, gotta be a trap or something. I'll ask, and you'll say yes just long enough for me to get my hopes up before you'll cartwheel away and scamper off to tell the Lady Elise how good you got me and Drew will just shake his head all solemn because really I'm just a cheap trick and luring me into a snog isn't anyone's idea of masterful trickery but you'll be proud of yourself anyway and you happy makes Elizabeth happy which makes Drew happy and you'll all just have a grand ol' time hamming it up while I live the rest of my inevitably short life in shame, sequestered behind the not-green houses until I become the newest school ghost. Nothing more than a lesson. Not even a professor like Binns - just a lesson. 'oh, you better stay in school, kids. keep focused on yer studies, dont think with yer dick. don' wanna end up like ol' wade out behind the herbology lessons do ya?' I suppose at least if I'm haunting the grounds around here at least I can get my spook on and wait until some young whippersnappers are going at it to pop out and surprise 'em..." Wade trailed off, eyebrows furrowing a bit at the hypothetical pranking he could get up to once he dies.
Turning his attention back to Vai, he grinned. "Wanna make out until dinner?"

Well...that had not at all been expected. Banter, fussing, maybe even some half added wrestling or something. But the words that all just kind of spilled out of his mouth? Yvaine was kind of at a loss. She felt bad for him in a way. Not sorry for him, the boy had good game in terms of getting his snog on. But that came with a reputation, one even Vai had done nothing to dissipate.
So she sighed softly and used the hand to gently poke him in the nose. She said nothing about his speech, not wanting to make it awkward, and really what could she say? Therefore she focused on his following question.
"Why in the world would you want to waste your serious snogging skills on me?" Hey, she knew his reputation after all, which again made her think about how she hasn't stood up for him about it. But her focus returned to his face, "Not that I'm not extremely flattered or tempted, mind you..."
But Yvaine had her own reputation: Untouchable. No one has yet to get their hands-- or lips-- on her.

He twitched his nose when she poked it, and reached up to remove her hand from his face.
"Well, why wouldn't I? You're here, I'm here, the setting is literally straight out of a novel. It's all ridiculously convenient. And then besides that I suppose you're pretty enough. Not like it matters what anyone looks like when you've got your eyes closed. And if you've got your eyes open while you're making out, something has gone horrible awry." He grinned, waggling his eyebrows at her.
"Ok but really, though. If you're getting worried about your whole "grr I'm a big scary Lion! None shall pass!" image you've got going on.." He stroked his thumb idly across the hand he hadn't actually let go of yet "I do feel the need to point out that I'm not the one who spreads my conquests around the gossip tree. Disregarding the times that happen in plain public sight, I only ever tell Drew, and we both know he doesn't have any friends to tell thereafter. It's always the other person telling their friends, who tell their friends, et cetera. So, really, if you're worried about being seen with the likes of me, you ruined that glimmer of hope First Year. It won't matter if I kiss you or not because no one will know. Except for Drew, I'm not even gonna pretend like that isn't going to happen. And then, of course, Elise will know, too. But really I can't see it going any further unless you spread it yourself."

"Wade..." She sighed his name and then leaned just enough to kiss his forehead. Was it affectionate, perhaps. Friendly, of course, and that sort of platonic kiss was normal-- for Vai to give, not receive. But this leaned more towards affectionate than platonic, yet didn't scream any sort of hormone driven vulgarities. She then pressed her forehead against his, but in a way that let her keep some eye contact.
"If I was worried about people seeing me with you, or what they might say, I would have bailed on you the moment your boys dropped and making out became your favorite pastime." Yes she was teasing him, but not in a way that aimed to harm. She just needed to make it clear that if she were intimidated by, or uncomfortable with his reputation, she wouldn't stick around or put up with him.
"Are we clear on that?" There was that playful tone and smirk back.

Vai kissing foreheads wasn't particularly uncommon amongst their little quad, but Wade was definitely not a common face among the recipients. And on the few times she had bestowed her gift upon him, she sure didn't loiter around afterwards. But now? Her forehead was resting against his, and somewhere in the back of his mind it struck him that this was one of the most intimate things he'd ever done. He'd slept with people, and snogged probably somewhere around half the school by now, but none of it felt the same as laying here in the grass right now with Vai.
Weird. Who the hell thought foreheads and grass were sexy? He must be hungry or something. He was never quite himself when he was hungry.
Still, though, he wasn't exactly trying to move away.
"That's what I said. Nothing's gonna happen to your big scary reputation that didn't already happen five years ago when you introduced yourself in Charms by trying to spell my mouth shut. Everyone knows your game already - you're the weirdo who willingly spends time with Wade. Drew doesn't count because we share a dorm. He's literally stuck with me, but you made a choice."
Twisting his head a little, Wade bumped his nose against Vai's. "Knowing my reputation and letting it taint yours are different beasts. I just wanted you to know that I'm not gonna be the one tarnishing your silver."

He wasn't the only one who noticed that the gesture was more intimate, and while she wasn't entirely sure, Vai thought the temperature of her cheeks heated a little. Though rather than focus on that oddity, she let out a somewhat dramatic sigh. "I do occasionally feel sorry for Drew," she stated, "But there are days I feel just as sorry for you, especially with Ellie being in the equation now." She could only imagine.
But she didn't imagine long, not with the way he bumped his nose against hers. The shift, the gesture, his words (she wasn't used to this side of him after all) and just a strange //urge// to do so made her lean and shift a bit so that she could press an admittedly nervous kiss to his lips.

Wait, what? Hey, no, pity wasn't supposed to be part of any equation that featured him as a variable. He was just preparing to tell her off for daring to even think of pitying him when her lips hesitantly touched his own.
Despite that it was a clearly foreseeable outcome to the conversation they'd been having, it still caught him by surprise somehow. He breathed in sharply through his nose, tightening the hold he had on her hand as he brought his other hand, which had been behind his head, to comb gently through he hair.
Other than that, though, he tried very hard to keep himself still. He returned the kiss, of course, but didn't try to deepen it (much). He tried to let her keep control of it, because while everyone he ever met knew that he was an asshole, he wasn't actually 100% a dick. This was her first, and he didn't wanna ruin it.

Well, Vai was not generally much of a blusher. She did not embarrass easy, not did she fluster quickly-- at least not most of the time. The very beginnings of the new moon were another matter. But other than that? She wasn't the type of girl to light up like a Christmas tree. However, when she separated the kiss her face lingered close to his. Close enough to kiss or be kissed again, but there was an unmistakable red hue splashed across her cheeks.
She simply looked down at him, examining him at this closeness. It was a different sort of gaze, not a lovely-dovey expression, but one of a new appreciation for him in this way.
Yeah, she definitely understood why girls flocked to him, even if she'd never tell him that.
"Sorry..." She muttered, but it was plainly obvious that she wasn't sorry. Not sorry in the least little bit.
